Program Description

Event Details

In celebration of Jane Austen's 250th birthday, enjoy a delightful journey back to Regency Era England, where tea was more than just a beverage—it was a symbol of culture, class, and connection.

Little did the Dutch East India Company know the profound influence tea would have on society, industry, literature, and daily life in England. Through the lens of Jane Austen’s writings, we’ll explore how one plant helped shape an entire nation.

Enjoy an engaging presentation by Patricia Dennison, Certified Tea Sommelier and owner of Palmer Place Fine Teas, as she brings history to life with stories, insights, and the connections of Jane Austen's writings and tea. Enjoy delicious tea samples that were popular during the 1800s in England including English Breakfast, Lady Grey, and garden herbal blends. In honor of Jane Austen’s birthday, the celebration concludes with a slice of cake, a perfect tribute to the beloved author.

Sip, savor, and step into Austen’s world—one cup at a time.

Registration required by December 12.
