Program Description

Event Details

Where have Northeast Ohioans gathered to express their civic pride and love for their sports teams? How have they connected with their community while cheering on Cleveland teams? "The Stadiums of Cleveland" opens with a look at Cleveland’s League Park, home to the Cleveland baseball team until 1946. It then moves on to Municipal Stadium, from construction to demolition, and covers the events held there: baseball, football, concerts, civic pageants, and religious celebrations. The talk concludes with the brief histories of Progressive Field image and Cleveland Browns Stadium.
