Julia Child was a famous chef, author, and television personality. She ignited a passionate interest in cooking with her expertise in French cuisine and her larger than life personality. Child became an industry icon winning multiple awards, turning out several bestselling cookbooks and making many appearances on TV shows. Her Cambridge kitchen has been reconstructed and is currently in the Smithsonian Museum of National History. Join the studio audience for an episode of The French Chef, through a living history portrayal from actress Ruth Pangrace. Ruth Pangrace joined Women In History in 1998 and portraysfourteen notable American women. "Women in History gives me an opportunity to share the stories of women that often are buried in our nation's past. Uncovering these stories and bringing these women to life for audiences of all ages is an exhilarating experience.”
Ruth’s teaching experience ranges from preschool students to university students to senior citizens. She is retired from Lakewood City Schools and has been recognized as a Master Teacher in Ohio. Currently, she volunteers at The Hope Center for Refugees, working with newcomers who have a rich history of their own. Ruth lives in Rocky River Ohio, has three grown children and three granddaughters, hopefully future Women in History.
